In Schools?

Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. In 30 years, Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County has grown from serving 200 students in two Fort Worth schools to serving more than 35,000 students in 71 schools across 11 school districts.

Desiree Smith

Hi! My name is Desiree Smith and I am the CIS Program Manager at Lake worth high school. I am a licensed social worker and received my degree from Tarleton State University . My favorite thing about working with students is helping them figure out what their goals are and watching them achieve the goals.  I am most looking forward to making memories with my students this school year.  I have one cat named River Song and my favorite snack is Hot fries chips, Reese’s pieces, banana taffy. I can’t wait to meet you and your family!

Mental Health

Licensed Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to address the mental health needs of students through one-on-one counseling inside schools. CIS Mental Health Supports eliminates any financial, transportation, or distance barrier that exists.
