In Schools?
Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. In 30 years, Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County has grown from serving 200 students in two Fort Worth schools to serving more than 35,000 students in 71 schools across 11 school districts.

Lester Lawler
Hi! My name is Lester Lawler and I am the CIS Program Manager at Fossil Hill Middle School. I am a licensed social worker and received my degree from Tarleton State University . My favorite thing about working with students is watching them grow and achieve their goals and I am most looking forward to meeting new students and learning from them this school year. I have Three dogs, one son, one grandson. and my favorite snack is cookies. I can’t wait to meet you and your family!

Mental Health
Licensed Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to address the mental health needs of students through one-on-one counseling inside schools. CIS Mental Health Supports eliminates any financial, transportation, or distance barrier that exists.
