Helping nonprofits design their brand is
Stacy’s passion. This passion developed
when she chose a dissertation topic for
her doctoral degree in marketing at
Louisiana State University. She studied
cause related marketing from a
corporate perspective. After seeing that
little attention was paid to the nonprofit
perspective, she decided to examine it from both perspectives.
Stacy’s research has been published in the Journal of Advertising,
Journal of Retailing, Journal of Nonprofit & Public Sector Marketing,
and Journal of Business Ethics among others. Stacy wrote
“Connected Causes: Online Strategies for Nonprofit Organizations”
and is working on her second book on nonprofit marketing.
In her day job, Stacy is an Associate Professor of Professional
Practice in Marketing at the Neeley School of Business at Texas
Christian University. She teaches market analysis, marketing
communications and digital marketing among other classes. She
also serves as the Assistant Director of the Neeley Fellows Honors
Program, directing the Service Learning Projects and Net Impact
Chapter for the Neeley Fellows.
As a strategic brand planner, Stacy conducts qualitative and
quantitative research, strategic planning and brand building efforts
for nonprofit and for profit clients looking to “do well by doing
good”.
She has started a consulting endeavor called The Social Impact
Project to help nonprofit clients as well as social entrepreneurship
(www.thesocialimpactproject.wordpress.com). She also developed
Sway: the art and science of persuasion for the students of TCU
(www.tcumarketingprof.wordpress.com).
Stacy serves on the editorial review boards of
Journal of Advertising among others. She is
working on the startup for Net Impact DFW.
Before crossing over to the “dark side” of
academics, Stacy worked for several ad
agencies in Louisiana. In her free time, Stacy
enjoys “trying” to play tennis, running, reading
and hanging out with her two daughters and
husband. And not in that order.
