Communities In Schools
Keeping kids in school is not a school problem. It’s a community problem.
“The Texas Education Agency reports that 25,552 freshmen (9th grade students) registered in Tarrant county schools in 2001, and only 16,180 students graduated four years later. One third did not complete high school.”
Failing to complete high school impacts the whole community. An unskilled, untrained workforce can undermine otherwise strong economic growth, and lower school rankings negatively impact the appeal of neighborhoods and property value.
